Searching
the Inca ruins of San Jose de Paititi

The
director of the Bolivian expeditions Mr. Pablo Cigolani has announced
that is seriously thinking of another expedition within the Madidi
National Park and to the same territory used by Colonel Percy Harrison
Fawcett following his routing to the roof of the world in 1911 with the
objective to look for and localize the Inca ruins of San Jose de Paititi
near Mojos. The
Paitití hill is a name that brings into our memory the homonymous
legend of the South American El-Dorado, a forest already explored and
recognized by the cameraman and German explorer Hans Erlt in 1954-1955.
Erlt who died two years ago in Santa Cruz made investigations and
excavations that leaded to the discovery of a true archaeological
treasure that had been devoured by the forest. With Pedro Aramayo,
technical director of the Expedition Madidi XXI, we decided our team to
participate in this story under certain conditions that will be the
subject of the next Tuesday’s conversation. If the negotiations arrive
at good terms, then we will be having two expeditions instead of one
within the 2001, and that makes us more proud. We assure all of you that
we will continue our information newsletter according to the progress of
these expeditions and stories. Pablo
