The results of our research
(The first forty records [01-40])
Our
very first contact/record, which was dated December 1999 arrived from USA,
almost ten months after our website's first registration into the Internet
search engines. Under the circumstances, it must be taken into consideration
that during that period most of the search engines had plenty of difficulties in
tracking registered websites that were not complied with their rules so our
websites were not shown in the net during the first period of registration, a
period between March and December 1999. That's why we did not have an immediate
respond from our website's readers as our sites "The great Unknown, The
Great Explorers" and "The Great Web of Percy Harrison Fawcett"
could not easily be tracked.
As the time went by, the net search engine's system was improved and our first contact with our readers began early in March 2000, the date that our records indication begins below and the names of these people interested in Colonel Fawcett's case are mentioned below with a description of their first e-mail, their country, their occupation and the date of their first contact.
Use the Back button of your browser to return to the table below after you have read each record
Our very first record was DANIEL MELONE from USA.

Interests of this
contact in brief: Dear
Sir or Madam, My name is Daniel T. Melone (Dan). I live in the US in Chicago IL. First
let me tell you a little about my self. I am a 26 year old
archaeologist and my specialty is Egyptology. However I have a
major interest in the whereabouts of P.H. Fawcett and his lost city. My
obsession with him began in my sophomore year in high school and I have
been doing research on and off since then. I have always planned
on leading an expedition into the jungle to look for he and his city. I
am currently working at the Field Museum and will be leaving on a
2-month expedition to 2.
Matalir 3
Araracauga 4.
Atlantis (mind you that this is what Fawcett thought he might find). 5.
City Z (The name Fawcett used for his city). He
stated that they were looking for the lost city that Bandeira in 1753
was looking for. Described as a city with low stone buildings with
many streets set at right angles to one another, but there were also
some big buildings and a great temple, in which was a large disc cut out
of rock crystal. A river running through the forest
beside the city fell over a big fall whose roar could be heard for
miles, and below the fall the river seemed to widen out into a great
lake emptying itself into it. His
route started out at Dead Horse Camp where his horse died in 1921, 11
degrees 43` south and 54 degrees 35` west, roughly northeast to the
Xingu. He followed the forest to a point midway between that river
and the Araguaya, and then followed the watershed north to 9 degrees or
10 degrees south latitude. He thought that the city lay at 11
degrees 30` south and 42degrees 30` west. In
recent years however expeditions into the Bolivian plains have found a
mysterious pyramid at Tiwanaku and giant blocks of stone weighing tons.
Also in July of this year an expedition sponsored by Mr. A Bayer was
going into the Xingu area to search for the trail of Fawcett. The
team was headed by James Lynch and Rene Delmotte and they were quickly
stopped and threatened with death should they proceed. About 60
thousand dollars of their equipment was stolen, and those involved were
detained physically by Indians. I must close this letter the first of many I hope. I hope that this is some help, I do have some maps and more info however right Now I am pressed for time. I hope you allow me to access your info with the pass. Thank you very much for your time. Dan Melone, Department of Anthropology The Field Museum of Natural History. |

Interests of this
contact in brief: I
find this case about Fawcett very fascinating. It is the perfect
mystery. A man who disappears in the Brazilian jungle during the search
of a lost civilization. Very exciting and strange. What I know about
Fawcett is this: He
was born in Devon, UK, in 1867. After a successful career in the army
(royal artillery), he started to explore the jungles of Ceylon and South
America. Fawcett first became aware of the "lost civilization"
through the writer Sir H. Rider Haggard, who gave him a black statue
with mysterious writings on it. He believed the statue came from
Atlantis and in 1925, he started his last expedition with his son Jack
and a friend of his, Raleigh Rimell. The started out in Cuiabα, and
from there, headed north over Sierra Azul. That's it. I hope that this is enough to get me a pass, cause 200 pages about Fawcett sounds to good to be true. |

contact in brief: My name is Julian Brantley. I am from the USA. I
have been interested in Fawcett's last expedition since I first read of
him in relation to H. Rider Haggard. The black basalt idol that
Haggard gave to Fawcett is of particular interest. It was a figure
with a plaque across the chest and had inscriptions on it and around the
ankles of the figure. There were 24 characters of an unknown
language, and unfortunately, I have not found any reproductions of these
markings. Apparently this idol was found in Brazil. Thank you and I hope you will contact me soon. Julian P.S.
- In doing research on Atlantis I came across a picture of an ancient
city overgrown by the jungle in Peru. It was taken by helicopter
at 13' S by 71' 30" W. It is unreachable by land and is said
to be guarded by a savage Indian race. It sounded very much like
the city Fawcett was searching for, although it is in the wrong
location. |

Night, My name's Fausto Andra and I live in Brazil. I'm very interested in this
relevant subject for two reasons: First, I’m a Brazilian guy and second I guess there's more
than beautiful landscapes inner country. Ancient mysteries lie beyond
Brazilian forests. I’ve been reading a book that tells of a journalist
called Karl Brόgger who had heard of a tail from an anonymous
Brazilian air force flightier. This tail introduced to Brόgger an
ancient legend of a lost city in Brazilian territory, which is called
AKAKOR, the same city that Fawcett was searching for. Brόgger
thought that an amazing story. Then he wrote a book titled "The
Akakor Chronicle" (this book was not published in Brazil, only in
USA and Germany, I don't Know why...). Maybe because of this, was
murdered in Rio de Janeiro. The press sad that it was a robber. But it
sounds strange... I’ve
been trying to find this book, but it's hard to do it. If you own that,
please try to send me an issue. By the way, I’d like very much to
share with you the Colonel Fawcett's expedition tail. I hope my info is
somehow worthful for you. Waiting

the Arraias and Xingu rivers meet. I
am an Army Staff Infantry Colonel retired from the active duty since
October 98. My sincere opinion, Mr. Laleos, is that the Legend of
Fawcett’s disappearance must not be disturbed, but tributes to his
sacrifice, in the shape of a book, a movie, a video, etc should be
encouraged. I
think it would be rather interesting to follow and document his trail

am I interested in this case? Because it was one of the most amazing
story I ever read. Fawcett fired my imagination already 15 years ago. I
believe that thanks to your site I will improve my knowledge about
this case. Everything
what I know about Fawcett comes from his diary prepared to print by his
son, Brian (English title: "Lost Trials, Lost Cities" or
"Exploration Fawcett"). The book was published in Poland in
1963 and I never heard about Polish re-edition. Maybe that's why this
story is completely unknown here. And...

Jo Brewer COUNTRY:
USA, Connecticut I
have been fascinated with the history of Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett.
They used to call him "Fawcett the Dreamer" and " Fawcett
the Mystic." I know for a sure fact that he not only was in
search of the lost city he named "Z", but he was also in
search of the Lost Mines of Muribeca, among others. He
also had in his possession an image about ten inches high, carved out of
black basalt. There were characters inscribed on the chest and
ankle of the figure which was given to him by man by the name of Sir H.
Rider Haggard, who obtained it from somewhere in Brazil and whom Fawcett
sincerely believes comes from one of the lost cities. What is
magnificent about this figurine is that anyone who holds it in its hands
gets a jolt of an electric current that they are forced to actually put
it down. I
also know that in 1743 Francisco Raposo went in search of the Lost Mines
of Muribeca. After years of searching they actually found it.
When they entered the lost city there was ruin everywhere. But one
thing that really frightened Raposo and his troops was that of a huge
column of black stone and upon it was the shape of a man in perfect
preservation, with one hand on his hip and the other pointing towards
the north. After getting out of there Raposo sent a scouting party
to explore farther down the river. After the traversed lagoons and
backwaters for like 9 days they caught a glimpse of a canoe paddled by 2
white people with long black hair and
dressed in some sort of clothing.
They decided to fire a shot to attract attention but the canoe made off
and vanished from view. I
would appreciate it so much if I was to get that pass. It would
mean sooooo much to me. Thanks a whole lot!! JO |

Interests of this
contact in brief: Hello! My name is Mark Kingsley, I live in Ramona, California, USA - Ramona is
a suburb of San Diego. My career has been in cartography, more precisely in photogrammetry,
which is the science of making reliable measurements from photographs.
The most common application of photogrammetry is extracting coordinate
information - latitude, longitude and elevation - from aerial
photographs and space images to create maps. My employer, LH Systems, is
a leading provider of equipment and software for the photogrammetric community throughout the world. My
present role at LHS is writing training materials to help our customers
learn how to best operate our equipment and produce cartographic
products with it. My
35-year career in mapping has taken me to many parts of this fascinating
world, including much of Latin America. Along the way, I've run into a
number of intriguing mysteries, Fawcett's city in the Brazilian jungle
being one of them. I have set out to write a series of novels in which
my own solutions to these mysteries is proposed. Having completed the survey of the Bolivia/Brazil border and
several subsequent forays into the jungles of the Matto Groso, Fawcett
was certainly no greenhorn. I choose to believe that he really saw what
he said he saw, and that some day it will be found again and revealed to
the world. Does
this qualify me for a Pass? Mark |

am interested in the mystery of the disappearance of Percy Fawcett. My
name is Simon Walliss I
live in Australia I
am interested in exploration and that parts of South America including
places that Fawcett was going to are still unexplored. Information.
I think the best report of what happened to Fawcett was the report of an
Indian Women in about 1932 that said that a tribe had kept three white
men hostage to help with medicine. Fawcett could have been kept as a
status symbol and doctor on pain of death. |

Interests of this
contact in brief: Hi, I have
perhaps a unique association with Percy Fawcett, through my stepfather,
who was born in Riberalter, in Bolivia. His father was, believe it or
not, responsible for the building of the town of Percy
Fawcett, as you know, started many of his expeditions from Riberalta and
there is a reference in his book, to the Swiss German (my step father's
family). If you want to check this information out, my step father's
name is Emilio Gschwind-Zabala, the eldest son of Eduado Gschwind, who
built Riberalta, on the back of his Rubber Empire. He married the
daughter of the famous Zabala family and the dynasty of the
Gschwind-Zabala's was born. He left Switzerland during the First World
War and when Fawcett visited Riberalta, he was just starting his Rubber
Plantation. He outlived all the other Europeans and only returned to
Switzerland in the 1960's. My
stepfather's brother, (my uncle) Dr Walter Gschwind - Zabala was
Minister of Justice for Bolivia for 17 years! He still lives there,
although not in the family home in Riberalta which is now in a state of
decay. I
travelled through the region extensively in the late 1970's and plan to
write a book on this extraordinary story. My step father is still alive,
although we have lost touch and as far as I know, his mother is still
alive, now in her late 90's and I am trying to track them down because
my step father always told me that some of the family albums contain
photographs of Percy Fawcett, since he stayed in their home when he was
in Riberalter. I
look forward to hearing from you and hope you give me a pass, I am very
interested! Best

Interests of this
contact in brief: I
was reading about Colonel Fawcett's research in different books. The
latest was about AGHARTI, the underground civilization. Also I saw some
TV documentaries about his expeditions and the mystery linked to his
disappearance. As far as I understand, Fawcett wanted to find the
remains of ancient cities of Atlantis in the amazonas, and was
convinced to find them!
1.
Either he found an ancient civilization living still in a peaceful way
hidden from the modern world, and he felt so attracted by them, that he
decided to stay. Probably also because he saw the risk, his
communication to our world could mean again a great danger
for the secrecy of such a hidden place (indications of such places are
given also in TATUNCA NARAS report of the underground civilization of
AGAKOR, at least 10 000 years old, in the east slopes of the Andes in
the Amazon region
2.
Or other interests of the "Amazon connections" where
intriguing against him. It would be maybe against some of their
interests, if such information leak out, which they want to keep for
themselves. The author of the book on TATUNKA NARA and the civilization
of AGAKOR was also shot openly on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, and the
case was to my knowledge never solved, if not some interests where
there, to stop in this way further publications on the matter of AGAKOR
3.
Or maybe he was even kept forcefully there by some of those tribes, not
wanting their locations or existence to be known. TATUNKA NARA reported,
that there are a number of different tribes living in the remote parts
of the jungle, related still in the Amazon to some But
probably all this information is well known to you. Yet, I would be glad
to receive access to the pages, to read more on the expedition of
Colonel Fawcett in the Amazon. This area of the Amazon forest is one of
my favorite personal interests, and I feel deeply related to cultures
possibly still living there. At least my intuition strongly tells me,
that there is a mystery until now unsolved in this region. Particularly
the remains of ancient cities of Atlantis in the Amazon touches me, as
if I’m sure, that there is authenticity in it............ with best
wishes to lift the curtain finally on the mystery of Colonel Fawcett's
disappearance in the Amazon region I remain with warm greetings to all
those organizing these pages Anjuva |

Have
a fascination for the Amazon which led me to the history of explorers in
that area. Just got a computer; connected to the web and have only found
minimal info on Colonel Fawcett. What info do you need?
Born
1867 in Devon, England. Served a number of years with the Royal
Artillery where he developed his skills of surveying. I know he made
several expeditions to South America between 1906 and 1924,
and, after the Verde trip, spent 3 years with the Boundary Commission
charting the region. Disappeared in 1925 looking for ancient city he
called 'Z', with son Jack and his friend. 'You need have no fear of
failure' was the last message he sent his wife on 25th May.
Numerous
people have tried to retrace his steps over the last 80 odd years. The
latest being some dickhead in 1998 who claims to have found Fawcetts'
bones. |

the story 10 yrs ago but the trail went cold . Couldn’t track down
relatives or further correspondence etc, only newspaper articles and
wild theories, nothing factual. There are still one or two areas that
might prove fruitful to an explorer with time and money however I have
little of either. I had hoped others might have had more luck hence
