1.  To affirm the sovereignty and the national unity from the vocation and the will of the people of La Paz (Inspection of landmarks 22 to 26)
2.  To preserve our natural resources in benefit of the native communities of the department
3.  To integrate the department in its two large dimensions: the Andean and the Amazon (from Katantika to Mosojhuaico)
4.  To promote the regional productive vocations as the exploitation of the vicuña and the tourism and their development in the sub regional context (Departments of Puno and Madre de Dios in the Republic of Peru) in the outline of the Departmental Plan of Development
5.  To promote the eco-tourism, the cultural tourism and the tourism of adventures to international level (Madidi-Apolobamba) as the best way to preserve the environment and the cultural, architectural, archaeological, and historical patrimony, benefiting the native communities

Our expedition's safe return to La Paz

From Apollo, capital of the province of Franz Tamayo, which is the last outpost of civilization we completed the third version of the Expedition Madidi initiated in La Paz on the 11th of September 2003.

Above all, and as a part of the accomplished extensive objective, we want to emphasize the arrival of the Expedition Madidi to the Milestone 26 Ichocorpa of the limit binacional Bolivia-Peru, a fact that occurred on September 24 at the 8:15 a.m.  "There," as it is evident in the testimony, “we have arrived at the beginning of the 21st century to indicate that the borders must join the towns and not to separate them”.

In that sense, we want to thank the work and the solidarity of the local authorities, the people of the community and settlers of Pelechuco, Keara, Puina, San Juan de Hilo Hilo, Sunchulli, Lagunillas and Apollo (provinces of Franz Tamayo and Bautista Saavedra, in the Department of La Paz, Republic of Bolivia) and of Saqui and Sina (in the Republic of Peru) informing them at the same time that without their contribution and support, the Expedition Madidi should not be successful. Also to keep especially emphasized the support of CARE- Bolivia for the thriving culmination of the undertaking. Finally, we should notify all the national authorities to improve the true politics of national development for the region of Apolobamba and for the territory of the Kallawayas.

We have arrived at Apollo surpassing the blockade but facing at the same time the poverty, the abandonment and the forgetfulness in which our compatriots live. This situation must be changed. That is our assurance that we must continue.

Viva the Expedition Madidi!

Viva La Paz!

Viva Bolivia!
